So as the saying goes....everything is bigger in Texas. And according to the article in the Huffington Post, even the scams are bigger in Texas. It's getting close to the holidays ya'll, so be careful. The thieves are hungry, even more so as it gets closer to the holidays.
So according to the story in the Huffington Post, a woman bought a supposed iPad at a gas station for $200. Now don't get me wrong, I love a good hook up just as much as anybody, but buying goods at the gas station, from a stranger, BEFORE you check the merchandise, is a huge no no. This scam has been rampant in the area for a little while.
Please be cautious. Spend your coins wisely! I do!

Random Thoughts
Everyday I am always seeing or encountering something very funny and interesting. People always tell me, you see some of the weirdest things. So here are a couple random thoughts of some things I have seen recently.
1. Ok, so I'm at work and I went to take some reports to a team member. When I walked to his desk I noticed his right hand on the mouse but couldn't see his left hand. Upon further inspection I notice his entire left hand was down in his pants. So I'm thinking to myself, I have never noticed this before, so why is his hand down in his pants? I stayed at his desk for a few minutes and he kept his hand down in his pants. I went back to his desk several more times that day and his left hand was still down in his pants. He didn't move it all night. So needless to say, I thought this was pretty odd.
2. There is a lady at work that always fills up her water bottle in the bathroom. I found this odd. I don't know anyone that wants to drink bathroom water. It might be all the same. But still. Why would anyone want to take food or drink in the bathroom? I mean with what goes on in there, who and why would someone want to do that? And she does it everyday. And we have water fountains and filtered water in the break room. Why doesn't she just use that?
Stay tuned. There's more to come!

Sweet Revenge...or Going Too Far
So we've all heard the tales. Someone cheated, someone hurt somebody else, and that someone that got hurt did something to get revenge. Run over cheating and abusive husbands. Confront the other women. I have read where a lot of heart broken women sold gifts from cheating boyfriends on ebay. And instead of keeping the cash they made, they opted to donate it to charity. No too bad huh?
I'm sure you have also heard the story of the 4 women that found out they were all messing with the same guy and he was cheating on them all. So they lured him to a hotel room and taped his genitals to his stomach. The women were arrested and face criminal charges I believe. Revenge, or did they go too far?
And surely everyone has heard of the woman that cut off her husband's genitals. She cut off her husband's genitals because she said he abused and raped her. And we have all seen episodes of Snapped. A story of the punching bag punching back.
So all of these examples beg the question of when enough is enough. Is it over kill to burn your boyfriends closed because he cheated? Is it over kill to finally snap? Is revenge even necessary?
Regardless of what you think, I think these issues sometimes bring attention to what is lacking in our justice system. If more women know about various options and if there were more shelters, maybe more women would be empowered to leave bad relationships, marriages, etc. I also think some people don't understand how relationships works. I am currently reading a book on relationship principles. I think these types of instances come from a number of issues.
Just a little food for thought.....

One Snowy Texas Day
Whew....I can hardly catch my breath. Today has been a day. Here in Texas, we are not used to a lot of severe winter weather. We are used to a lot sun and a temperature no colder than about 30. Well lately we have experienced a lot of rain and cold temperatures. Today we have had nearly 11 inches of snow and it was just above freezing. Although it's been snowing all day and its expected to continue well into the night. Temps will drop below freezing so all of that snow will probably freeze overnight. And for us Texans, snow and ice is not normal for us. 2 inches of snow will close businesses and schools, just imagine 11 inches, lol.
So I was supposed to have a job interview at a company that's a good 30 miles from my home. Well the snow was pretty bad and I couldn't make it. I was originally supposed to interview on Wednesday when the weather was clear, but they decided to reschedule for Thursday. Though all the news stations have been reporting it would snow on Thursday. Go figure. So this was disaster #1.
Disasters #2-5:
The power went out in my complex for 2 hours. I then found out my entire city was without power! Most people for over 2 hours. Because the power was out, no one could enter or exit the apartments because the access gates wouldn't open due to the power being out.So I was going to head to a relatives home so that I wouldn't freeze while the power was out. Well I managed to get most of the snow off of my car. Because I stayed home all day my car and the space immediately surrounding it, was completely covered in snow. I didn't have a shovel, so I had to make due with what I had. I used an old trash can to shovel the snow from behind my car so that I would be able to back my car out. Well apparently I didn't do a great enough job at shoveling the snow because my car got stuck in the snow 5 times just trying to get out the complex. Each time it got stuck, I had to get out of the car and shovel snow so that my car would move. This went on for about 2 hours. After being drenched in snow and freezing cold, I determined this wasn't going to get me anywhere. I sat in my car for a minute thinking. So just then the power came on. Then 5 minutes later it went back off. So I continued to try and use my make shift shovel to shovel the snow away from my car. About 20 minutes later the power finally came back on. Thank God!
Now all of my groceries won't have to spoil. And....most importantly...I won't freeze without heat. So what could have been a nice snow day in...turned into disasters 1-5.
Stay tuned. The snow is supposed to freeze. I'm sure I will have more great adventures tomorrow!

In Other Wierd News
Maybe you have heard of this, maybe you haven't.
The UK Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel) is reporting that a couple sued a cruise line for loss of enjoyment. Apparently, they felt trapped and were disrupted by mouth ulcers and storms and couldn't enjoy their cruise. After complaining about their cabin the couple was given a penthouse suite with a butler. They left the 15 week cruise after only 6 weeks. The couple received a refund but still filed suit and were award damages.
So should we start suing for everything we don't like. Did the cruise actually make them sick?I'm not sure but thought this was pretty interesting.

Who Is This?

I have to admit, sometimes when someone calls me from a number I don’t recognize, I do not answer. I send it voice mail. Especially if I see an 800 number or some out of state number. If I don’t recognize the number, they probably have the wrong number. Or so I assume. Although, sometimes I am a bit curious. The Do Not Call List is supposed to help with unwanted telemarketers, but it seems like after I registered my phone number I started receiving more telemarketing calls! There are a couple sites out there that can help you identify unrecognized callers. One of these sites is anywho.com. Anywho allows you to use the reverse search function and search by phone number to determine who’s behind all those unwanted phone calls. Or if you need to look up a number, you can search by name for a person or business.
Another site I use is whocallsme.com. This allows you to search by phon

Any of these websites can serve as a free information resource. Hope this helps you identify any unwanted callers.
